The Rebel.com team is swapping screen time for face time — and heading to one of the most important events in the Internet’s evolution: ICANN84 in Dublin, Ireland.
As the digital world prepares for a major shift in how domain names are managed, created, and governed, we’re proud to be in the room where it happens — represented by our CEO Laure Clarke, Director of Technology Juan Martinez, and Product Manager Farid Tehrani.
We’ll be in Dublin from October 25–30, 2025, ready to chat about domains, digital identity, and building a web that feels a little more human. Irish coffee optional (but encouraged).
Why ICANN84 Is Kind of a Big Deal
ICANN84 isn’t your average tech conference. It’s the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers’ Annual General Meeting — and this year, the stakes are high.
The 2025 gathering comes just before WSIS+20, a United Nations-led review marking 20 years of global cooperation on digital transformation. Even bigger? ICANN is expected to finalize the Applicant Guidebook for its long-awaited New gTLD Program: Next Round — opening the door to a new generation of domain names in April 2026.
That means more options, more creativity, and more inclusion in how we name, find, and shape our corner of the Internet.
For anyone building an online presence, this is where the future starts.
Rebel.com’s POV: It’s Time for a More Human Web
At Rebel.com, we’ve always seen domains as more than just a web address. They’re personal. They’re powerful. They’re the first building block of your digital identity.
That’s why we’re showing up to ICANN84 — not just to observe, but to advocate.
Here’s what we’re standing for:
Empowering entrepreneurs and creators
We want a domain landscape that’s open, affordable, and filled with choices that help people stand out and show up online.
Making domain management more transparent
From ownership protection to renewals, clarity and accessibility should be the norm — not the exception.
Keeping the Internet open and inclusive
ICANN is about collaboration. We’re here to ensure small businesses, creators, and underrepresented voices have a seat at the table.
The web is for people. Let’s keep it that way.

What Is ICANN84, Anyway?
Great question.
Hosted this year by INEX, ICANN84 is the Internet community’s chance to reflect, plan, and act. Attendees include government reps, civil society, technologists, business leaders, and everyday Internet users who care about keeping the web stable, secure, and inclusive.
The event runs October 25–30, 2025, at the stunning Convention Centre Dublin.
Whether you’re watching from home or showing up in person, this is a milestone moment for anyone building or protecting a presence online.
Let’s Build What’s Next — Together
At Rebel.com, we’ve always believed in a better way to be online — one that’s powered by real people, real conversations, and real support. ICANN84 is a chance to help shape that future.
